Kim Gasper creates one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces in PMC. Her rings are sculputural works of art that show the texture of her handwork. They are truly lovely. What is PMC? Precious Metal Clay or PMC was developed in the early 1990s in Japan. The material consists of microscopic particles of pure silver, fine gold, copper and bronze powders and a water-soluble, non-toxic, organic binder which burns off during firing. It is a clay-like medium used to make jewelery, beads and small sculptures. After drying, it can be fired in a variety of ways including in a kiln, with a handheld gas torch, or on a gas stove. The binder burns away, leaving the pure, sintered metal. Silver metal clay results in objects containing 0.999 pure silver - aka fine silver. The color and richness is phenomenal. Read more on Wikipedia. Kim works in sterling silver, copper and bronze. This original "Flowers" Ring is a size 6 3/4.
